Filler Step by Step
When you entrust Derma Skinlab for your Filler journey in Grand Prairie, anticipate a smooth and relaxing procedure:
Step 1: Derma Skinlab Consultation
We look at your face together and agree what you want to change. Lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, folds or under eyes — each behaves differently and each is discussed on its own.
Step 2: Before Appointment
Skip alcohol for 24 hours and avoid blood thinners where your doctor allows it. Book it at least two weeks before any event, never the week of.
Step 3: Numbing
Topical numbing cream is applied and given time to work. Most filler also contains its own anaesthetic.
Step 4: Mapping and Agreeing the Price
Your face is marked and you are told exactly how much product is planned and what the total is. Nothing starts until you agree.
Step 5: Placement
Worked slowly, area by area, checking symmetry as we go. Up to three hours depending on how many areas you are having.
Step 6: Settling In
Expect some swelling and occasionally a little bruising for a few days. What you see at the end of the appointment is not the final result — give it two weeks.

How long does filler last?
Generally six to eighteen months depending on the area and the product. Lips move constantly so they tend to go first; cheeks and chin last longest.
Will my lips look fake?
Not with a conservative approach. Van builds gradually and will stop before the point where it stops looking like you.
Does it hurt?
You are numbed first and most filler contains anaesthetic. Most clients describe pressure rather than pain.
How much swelling should I expect?
Lips swell the most, usually for two to three days. Cheeks and chin settle faster. Plan it at least two weeks before anything important.
Can it be reversed?
Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved if needed. That is discussed at your consultation.
How much does it cost?
From $200, depending on the areas treated and how much product is used. The total is confirmed with you before we begin.
Is there any downtime?
No real downtime, but plan around the swelling. Most people go back to work the next day.
Do you offer consultations before services?
Yes. Every appointment starts with one, and you are free to decide against treatment on the day.
